An Undergraduate Hands-on Research Experience in Bolivia

Bolivia is a beautiful country, that suffers from both poor air and water quality in many regions. As part of an undergraduate course Mike and graduate students Heidi Vreeland and Laura Rogers took several undergraduate students from Duke to Bolivia to measure key components of air and water contamination in collaboration with the Universidad Mayor de San Andres in La Paz. More detailed information on the course can be found in a Tumbr page setup by the students as well as in the story and video by Emilie Poplett from the Duke Global Communications office.
